Davis Golf Course is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Davis, California.
Davis Golf Course opened in 1964. The course was designed by Kim Connors.
Davis Golf Course is a small, sparkling jewel in the crown of Golf Courses in the Sacramento Valley. It is not a long tedious monster like some of the more recently developed courses have turned out to be. Yet, it offers those looking to "have fun" playing golf that exact opportunity. Its 4900 yards for men and 4400 for women belie its real difficulty. Yardages notwithstanding, it offers a challenge to some of the best of golfers, while still letting the beginner, senior, student, and women have a chance to have fun playing the game.
Par for the course is 67. From the back tees the course plays to 4953 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 4428 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 18, a par-4 that plays to 389 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 7, a par-3 that plays to 121 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 18, a 389 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Davis Golf Course is # 9, a 237 yard par-4.
Davis Golf Course's challenges, while not including its length, do include out-of-bounds left on every hole. Also, there is water in play on 15 of 18 holes. If that's not enough, there's three holes with out-of-bounds on both left and right, and most fairways are considered rather narrow. All the greens are smallish, raised dishes (except one) with plenty of opportunity for rather sever breaking putts. Subtle breaking putts also seem to arise quite often

Still early in the year, but the greens are not in good shape. The course is fun, though, partly because it is mature and relatively small. It can be played fairly quickly in the late afternoon. It's a good place to get in a practice round before playing one of the area's larger courses.

High use course, but a bargain. Birdie opportunities abound.

par 67 but challenges your choice of clubs on many holes. I play to a 25 handicap and find my club selection different here than ob my home course which plays 72 at just under 6,000 yds white tees.

Short course is 4953 yds from the tips. Not often too windy but casn be somewhat cold if the fog settles in. Though course is short, the six par threes are challenging with bunkers and water between 121 and 200 yds. The par 4's and the only par 5 are relatively short though. Rated 63.4/slope 105 for men from the Blue tees. An easy drive from Sacramento and a great value.
